Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LicenseComposer ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Nature of Service

LicenseComposer provides template contract documents for informational and educational purposes only. We are not a law firm. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice, legal representation, or the formation of an attorney-client relationship. See our full Legal Disclaimer for details.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or use the Service on behalf of third parties without authorization. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Service to: (a) generate contracts for illegal purposes; (b) impersonate any person or entity; (c) interfere with the Service's operation; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the platform; (e) use the Service from sanctioned regions in violation of applicable law.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are billed annually at $9/year via Stripe. Premium template purchases are $5 per template. All purchases are final — no refunds unless required by law. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date via the Customer Portal.

6. Intellectual Property

The LicenseComposer platform, its code, clause templates, and UI are owned by LicenseComposer and protected by copyright. Generated contracts using your answers are yours to use — you retain ownership of the output. You grant us a limited license to store and serve your generated contracts.

7. Template Warranty Disclaimer

Templates are provided "AS IS" without any warranty. We do not warrant that templates are legally enforceable, accurate for your jurisdiction, or appropriate for your specific circumstances. Use them at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LicenseComposer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these Terms. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your access to premium features ends at the close of the current billing period.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
